Friends and Family Day: Come and See!

October 31, 2026 by admin Leave a Comment

One of the greatest blessings God has given us is the opportunity to share our lives with family and friends. We enjoy spending time together, sharing meals, making memories, and encouraging one another. But one of the greatest gifts we can offer those we love is the opportunity to know Jesus Christ and experience the blessings of being part of His family.

In John 1:46, Philip extended a simple invitation to Nathanael: “Come and see”. Philip did not ask Nathanael to take his word for everything; he invited him to come and discover Jesus for himself. That same invitation is still needed today. We have friends, neighbors, and family members who may need encouragement, answers to spiritual questions, or simply an opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ.

Friends and Family Day is more than a special day on the church calendar. It is an opportunity to strengthen our fellowship, welcome visitors, and share the love of Christ with people who may not regularly attend worship. Romans 10:17 reminds us, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” People cannot respond to the gospel if they never have the opportunity to hear it.

Let us make this day meaningful by inviting someone to worship with us. Let us welcome every visitor warmly, encourage one another sincerely, and remember that our purpose is not merely to fill the building but to point souls toward Jesus Christ. We may never know how much one invitation, one kind word, or one act of Christian love might mean to another person.

What a wonderful blessing it would be if our Friends and Family Day became the beginning of someone’s journey toward a closer relationship with God!

God Bless
